DIY charcoal face mask.

This is the best face mask ever – promise! It’s not only easy to make but the charcoal acts like a magnet drawing impurities out of your skin leaving you with a super clean and clear complexion. It’s also a great mask if your skin is breaking out as it helps to remove dirt and excess oils too. It’s even great for drawing out blackheads and minimising pores too. What’s not to love right?

For a more nourishing mask simply replace the water with coconut oil. If you’re suffering from breakouts you can also add a drop of tea tree oil (which has great anti-bacterial properties) to the recipe. Adding a 1/2 tsp of manuka honey to the mix will help to calm down any inflammation in your skin too.

French Green Clay is rich in magnesium, iron, potassium, copper, selenium, zinc, manganese, calcium, silica and is also very effective for acne because it halts the growth of bacteria and prevents the formation of scar tissue. Just remember to never mix green clay with a metal spoon or store it in a metal container as it loses its beneficial electromagnetic quality.

I buy my activated charcoal capsules from the supermarket and you can get French Green Clay from most good health food stores and online at iHerb.

Take a look at my short video below to see how to make your very own Charcoal Face Mask.

CHARCOAL MASK RECIPE

1 Tbs French Green Clay
2 Activated Charcoal Capsules
2 Tbs Water

Mix all ingredients together and apply to your skin with a spatula or foundation brush. When dry wipe away with a face cloth and warm water. Once the mask is washed off you may notice that your skin is a tiny bit flushed and slightly warm. Apply your favourite nourishing moisturiser or facial oil to soothe and calm your skin after the mask.
